There are not many commentators who split the political aisle like Ben Shapiro does. While conservatives revere him as the smartest mind after Einstein, he is often dismissed as a Gish-galloping hack-job by the political left. People disagree about issues with tremendous vigor. But, people don’t often disagree about people with this much severity.
Take Alex Jones for example. While left and right might disagree on whether his stances are right, no-one would argue for his dialectical brilliance. A completely different story can be told about people (with dichotomic views) like Jordan Peterson and Noam Chomsky — while both sides of the political aisle are split on their socio-political stances, they agree on the erudition of their rhetoric, at least to some extent.
Shapiro — on the other hand — is a whole different ball-game. While the right sees him as the messiah of truth and objectivity, the left completely denounces him as a frivolous gish-galloper (i.e. a debater who brings in too many inaccurate arguments too fast in a debate leaving the opponent with no time to respond). Which makes him a unique case-study and brings us to the question :
Is Ben Shapiro really a Gish-galloper ?
I would say — NO !
I am saying this as someone who never agrees with Shapiro.
